1998 MUSTANG GT CONVERTIBLE 2

History/Overview: This is a USA built 1998 Mustang GT Convertible built as a Saleen S281 TRIBUTE. Imported into Canada from New York in 2001. Last purchased in 2024.Triple Black car (black exterior, black leather interior and black convertible top). This car was carefully recreated to capture the look and spirit of the legendary Saleen S281 convertible. SALEEN produced only 81 S281 convertibles in 1998 making them one of the rarest Mustangs of the era.

Body: Black exterior with black convertible top and silver stripes on the hood. MRT hood struts.

Frame/Chassis/Suspension: Lowered chassis with Hotchkis suspension including coil springs, front and rear sway bars, upgraded control arms and bushings, performance shocks and frame stiffeners.

Engine: 4.6L SOHC V8. JLT cold air intake with a Trick Flow Specialties (TFS) intake plenum and throttle body. Engine is dry with no leaks.

Transmission: 4-speed automatic.

Differential: 3.73 gears. Runs with 2300 rpm at 100 km per hour.

Exhaust: Performance 2.5-inch dual stainless steel with cross over.

Brakes: Cobra 13-inch front brake upgrade with Cobra front calipers and Powerslot front rotors.

Wheels: Black Bullitt (Torq Thrust style) 18x9.

Tires: Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 with approx. only 4000 miles. Front 245-40R18 with 275-35R18 in the rear.

Interior: Factory black leather upholstery in good condition. Rear seat wind deflector accessory.

Extras included: SCT Performance Tuner. Original Ford manuals. Car Fax report.

Options and Special Features: Power steering, brakes, windows, mirrors and locks. Air conditioning and cruise control. Removable hard tonneau cover. LED sequential rear lights and PIAA driving lights. Bullitt fuel door. Alpine stereo with CD player.

Known issues: Minor transmission and differential leaks. Some small rock chips on front nose and hood. A few scratches on the trunk lid were touched up. Scratch in paint on the RH end of rear bumper. One small dent in RH quarter ahead of the wheel.

Reason for selling: Downsizing.
