Location: Alberta

History/Overview: This is a 1965 Ford Mustang convertible, built at the Dearborn, Michigan assembly plant. Owned since August 1988! The car has been driven approximately 40,000 miles since the rebuild. The car is a well-documented, long-term owner car that has been loved and maintained for over 38 years! Same independent mechanic for all those years! Runs and drives very well – a nice little summer cruiser.

Body: Body work and repaint completed between 1988 and 1989. Original colour was silver blue. Convertible top replaced in 2022.

Frame/Chassis/Suspension: Stock components in well maintained condition.

Engine: Likely original 289 CID V8 with 2-barrel carburetor. Factory-rated at 200 HP. Engine rebuilt February 1989.

Transmission: Likely original 3 speed automatic.

Differential: Likely original with unknown gears.

Exhaust: Factory style dual into single aluminized steel.

Brakes: Factory 4-wheel drum.

Wheels: Factory steel 14 inch with period correct spoke wheel covers and replicated knock off centre caps.

Tires: BF Goodrich Momentum195/70R14 front and rear.

Interior: Factory bucket seats with upholstery in nice condition.

Extras included: Car cover. Original radio. Convertible top tonneau cover.

Options and Special Features: Aftermarket AM FM with cassette player. Manual steering and brakes.

Known issues: Road rash on the front lower valance. Filler detected in the RH and LH lower side just ahead of the rear tires. Paint chips in most panels. RH window is hard to go down and LH rear window will not go down. Drivers front carpet is loose at the kick panel. Rusted floor pans and inner rockers with some perforation and lap welds on floor patches. Small dents on LH rear fender and RH door. Small rip on RH side of tonneau cover and has 2 fastener buttons missing. Dash pad is uneven from heat and expansion. Minor engine and transmission fluid leaks.

Reason for selling: Downsizing.
